A Song For The Broken
Seasons change summer, winter
Feelings change
Joy, bitter
Heart probed to open just wide enough to fall out
Loyalty was hers
But defeated by doubt
For that bleeding heart a bandaid heals
Supernaturally mending
And counting every tear
And counting every tear
For the body’s aching pain
There, on the other side
A warm, familiar embrace
For the silence of a shattered dream
It will sing a new tune
A courageous melody
For an outreached hand, help then holds
Love, shared grieving
Know you’re not walking alone
Know you’re not walking alone
For a hand left empty, a knowing one covers
Always keeps
Treasure recovered
For vacant promises and washed up words
New ones spoken
Life reborn
For that heart after her will change it’s rhythm
To beat after His
Praise, your new anthem
For thoughtless intentions and change of affection
Your change of course
A new direction
For swollen eyes of many tears
We are washed by the rain
You will be healed
For the disappointed mind and the lies of the enemy
He has greater things in store
Walk in that reality
For the film that plays over on repeat in your mind
Dwell on the good
The bad fades with time
For devastating news with no sign or warning
Remember
Joy comes in the dawn of the morning
For the questioning thoughts and wandering soul
Answers will find
Trust, trust in the Lord
For hands that crafted ornaments and figurines
Remember Jesus as carpenter
Embrace His workmanship, the Author and Perfecter of all things

worship is freedom; worship is choice
Come sit down, close your eyes
Feel the music, sing the rhyme
Come sit down, escape the world
Delight in the resound of a simple chord
Feel the music, sing the rhyme
Put the sheet music away,
Clear your mind, and start to play
Play a major and then its fourth
Bring a song of praise, an anthem to the Lord
Come sit down, escape the world
Delight in the resound of a simple chord
Forget the frustration of your limited voice
Worship is freedom, worship is choice
Sing out, sing loud
Sing alone or pretend there is a crowd
Come sit down, try to hear His song
Quiet, listen, soon you'll play along
Pour out your heart, don't be afraid to feel
That's when the music starts, emotions raw and real
Let your mind wander, dare to dream
Declare your purpose, His majesty, in every punching key
